I love The End Of The World very much, especially when I get frusrated.

The sun keeps shining and the bird keeps singing no matter what happens to me.

The End Of The World

Sylvia Dee
Arthur Kent

Why does the sun go on shining?
Why does the sea rush to shore?
Don't they know it's the end of the world
'Cause you don't love me anymore?

Why do the birds go on singing?
Why do the starts glow above?
Don't they know it's the end of the world
It ended when I lost your love

I wake up in the morning and I wonder
Why everything is the same as it was
I can't understand, no, I can't understand
How life goes on the way it does!

Why does my heart go on beating?
Why do these eyes of mine crying?
Don't they know it's the end of the world?
It ended when you said goodbye

Don't they know it's the end of the world?

Love Is A Many Splendored Thing

Love is a many splendored thing
It's the April rose
That only grows in the early spring
四月玫瑰;
Love is nature's way of giving
A reason to be living
給人生存的理由;
The golden crown that makes a man a king

Once on a high and windy hill
In the morning mist
Two lovers kissed
And the world stood still
世界靜靜佇立;
Then your fingers touched
My silent heart and taught it how to sing
Yes, true love's
A many splendored thing

Once on a high and windy hill

In the morning mist
Two lovers kissed

And the world stood still

Kiss Me Goodbye

Kiss Me Goodbye

Written:John Barry Mason/Leslie David Reed

We choose it, win or lose it
Love is never quite the same
I love you, now I've lost you
Don't feel bad, you're not to blame

So kiss me goodbye and I'll try not to cry
All the tears in the world won't change your mind
There's someone new and she's waiting for you
Soon your heart will be leaving me behind
Linger a little while, then I'll go with a smile
Like a friend who just happened to call
For the last time pretend your are mine
My darling, kiss me goodbye

I know now I must go now

Though my heart wants me to stay
That girl is your tomorrow
I belong to yesterday

So kiss me goodbye and I'll try not to cry
All the tears in the world won't change your mind
There's someone new and she's waiting for you
Soon your heart will be leaving me behind
Linger a little while, then I'll go with a smile
Like a friend who just happened to call
For the last time pretend your are mine
My darling, kiss me goodbye
My darling kiss me goodbye

Leader of the Band

每次聽"Leader of the Band"這首意義深遠的歌

Leader of the Band"

LEADER OF THE BAND

Dan Fogelberg

Lisa

An only child, alone and wild
A cabinet maker's son
His hands were meant for different work
And his heart was known to none

He left his home
And went his lone and solitary way
And he gave to me a gift
I know I never can repay

A quiet man of music
Denied a simpler fate
He tried to be a soldier once
But his music wouldn't wait
He earned his love through discipline
A thundering, velvet hand
His gentle means of sculpting souls
Took me years to understand

The leader of the band is tired
And his eyes are growing old
But his blood runs through my instrument
And his song is in my soul
My life has been a poor attempt to imitate the man
I'm just a living legacy to the leader of the band

My brothers' lives were different
For they heard another call
One went to Chicago
And the other to St. Paul
And I'm in Colorado
When I'm not in some hotel
Living out this life I've chose
And come to know so well

I thank you for the music
And your stories of the road
I thank you for the freedom
When it came my time to go
I thank you for the kindness
The times when you got tough
And papa, I don't think I said,
"I love you" near enough

I'd rather be a sparrow than a snail.
Yes I would,
If I could,
I surely would.

I'd rather be a hammer than a nail.
Yes I would,
If I only could,
I surely would.

CHORUS
Away, I'd rather sail away
Like a swan that's here and gone
A man gets tied up to the ground
He gives the world
Its saddest sound,
Its saddest sound.

I'd rather be a forest than a street.
Yes I would.
If I could,
I surely woud.

I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet,
Yes I would.
If I only could,
I surely would.

diamonds & rust

Well I'll be damned
Here comes your ghost again
But that's not unusual
It's just that the moon is full
And you happened to call
And here I sit
Hand on the telephone
Hearing a voice I'd known
A couple of light years ago
Heading straight for a fall

As I remember your eyes
 Were bluer than robin's eggs
My poetry was lousy you said
Where are you calling from?
A booth in the Midwest
Ten years ago
I bought you some cufflinks
You brought me something
We both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust

Well you burst on the scene
Already a legend
The unwashed phenomenon
The original vagabond
You strayed into my arms
And there you stayed
Temporarily lost at sea
The Madonna was yours for free
Yes the girl on the half-shell
Would keep you unharmed

Now I see you standing
With brown leaves falling around
And snow in your hair
Now you're smiling out the window
Of that crummy hotel
Over Washington Square
Our breath comes out white clouds
Mingles and hangs in the air
Speaking strictly for me
We both could have died then and there

Now you're telling me
You're not nostalgic
Then give me another word for it
You who are so good with words
And at keeping things vague
Because I need some of that vagueness now
It's all come back too clearly
Yes I loved you dearly
And if you're offering me diamonds and rust
I've already paid

"Time turns ugly charcoal into diamonds and shiny metal into rust."

The way we were....

Memories light the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories of the way we were

Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were

Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we, could we

Memories may be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
we simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter we will remember
Whenever we remember the way we were

The way we were

Corinna

Goodbye, Jimmy goodbye

 Kathy Linden

*Goodbye, Jimmy, goodbye
Goodbye, Jimmy, goodbye
I'll see you again but I don't know when
Goodbye, Jimmy, goodbye

Wind is a-blowing, rain starts to fall
Train is a-tooting its long, lonesome call
Wheels are clicking their way down

 the track
Counting the days till he's coming back(*)

When he has traveled the land and the sea
He'll stop his wandering and come home to me
Give me a kiss for each tear and each sigh
Till then my Jimmy, my Jimmy, goodbye(*)

How can you mend a broken heart

How can you mend a broken heart

I can think of younger days
When living for my life
Was everything a man could want to do
I could never see tomorrow
But I was never told about the sorrow

And how can you mend a broken heart ?
How can you stop the rain from falling down ?
How can you stop the sun from shining
What makes the world go round ?
How can you mend this broken man ?
How can a loser ever win ?
Please help me mend my broken heart
And let me live again

I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the tree
And misty memories of days gone by
We could never see tomorrow
But no one said a word about the sorrow

And how can you mend a broken heart ?
How can you stop the rain from falling down ?
How can you stop the sun from shining
What makes the world go round ?
How can you mend this broken man ?
How can a loser ever win ?
Please help me mend my broken heart
And let me live again

Emily)

I'm calling you now I just need to hear you
I've falln so far now Ive landed nowhere near you
It's true I´m growing old dont leave me out in the cold
I'm calling you now I just need to hear you

Two young lovers walked along the river
They talked about a love that lasts forever
Way back then I felt you were pretending
But I did not want to contemplate the ending

Maybe the love they were making is just for fools
Maybe he has breaking too many rules
It's true Im growing old
Don't leave me out in the cold
I´m Sorry If I have been breaking too many rules

Two young lovers walked along the river
They talked about a love that lasts forever
Way back then I felt you were pretending
But I did not want to contemplate the ending

I gave you my day, now were standing in its twilight
I'd just like to say maybe those young folk were right
It's true Im growing old, if you take me in from the cold
I'll give you the rest of my day and the moonlight

Those two young lovers walked by the river
They dreamt about a love that lasts forever
Maybe she was softened by the moonlight
Today my darling we can prove them right
